Red Ribbon Week

October 22–28, 2012 is Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week is the oldest and largest drug prevention campaign in the country and serves as a vehicle for communities and individuals to take a stand for the hopes and dreams of our children through a commitment to drug prevention, education, and to living drug free lives with the ultimate goal being the creation of drug free America.

The Student Council has organized theme days, to help raise awareness:

  • Monday – sports day (wear something sports related)
  • Tuesday – eat your fruits and veggies (in your lunch or snack)
  • Wednesday – wear red (represents a drug-free color)
  • Thursday – music at recess (exercise is healthy!)
  • Friday – hat day (wear your favorite hat to school)

It’s Bronco Gallop Time!

We’re so excited for our big annual fundraiser walk-a-thon, and looking forward to an exciting day! A few reminders:

  • The big day is Friday, October 19th.
  • All the money raised goes directly to our school (classrooms, teachers, PTA sponsored programs, field trips, etc.).
  • You don’t have to raise money to participate in the walk-a-thon, but the money helps our kids’ education.
  • Permission slips must be turned in for your kid to participate.
  • No permission slip, can’t walk! (But there will be other ways they can help.)
  • If your child has any food allergies, please note it on the permission slip. Snacks will be provided after the event, and we want to make sure everyone is safe.

We are hoping every kid can participate. Please encourage them to get their pledges! Every kid who raises $65 or more will get a free t-shirt and an entry in the prize raffle. We also welcome parent volunteers on the big day!
