Hello Brookvale Families! In case your student wanted to get a head start on their Reflections entries, here are the details:

The 2025 Reflections Art Competition is here! This year’s theme is “I Belong!”. The Reflections program provides opportunities for recognition and access to the arts which boost student confidence and success in the arts and in life.

Get those creative juices flowing!Students submit their completed works of art in one or all of the available arts categories:
*Dance Choreography
*Film Production
*Literature
*Music Composition
*Photography
*Visual Arts

Get inspired and find new ways to think about year’s theme with these online articles:

*Using the Arts to Discuss Mental Health

May Box Tops Contest!

Have you been hoarding your Box Tops lately? Now’s the time to turn them in! Brookvale is having another Box Tops Contest. Deadline is May 30th!

To participate:

  1. Collect Box Tops and attach them to the Box Top collection sheet or gather clips in a baggie.
  2. Bring all collected Box Tops (partially filled sheets are fine) to school to submit to the teacher.
  3. Include the teacher’s name or classroom number.

Watch for expiration dates. Expired Box Tops are not accepted by BTFE.

Thank you for your taking the time to collect all of those little pieces of cardboard! All money earned is sent to the Brookvale PTA and used to support our students.


 

November 17th – Spirit Wear Day

November 17th – Spirit Wear Day

Show your school pride and wear your Spirit Wear or school colors (blue and white) on Friday, November 17th. Classes with the highest participation will win playground balls and the School Spirit Trophies!

For those of you who ordered Spirit Wear earlier this year, the order should arrive early next week and the PTA will distributed them  before Friday.

Box Tops Contest

Welcome to the Box Tops for Education (BTFE) program for the 2017-2018 school year! Our September contest deadline is October 13th (because we’re starting late!)

Families may collect Box Tops clips from any product with the Box Tops logo. Each clip is worth 10¢. That amount may seem small, but, since joining the program, Brookvale has earned $7,164.63! Those little clips add up! As an added incentive, the classroom that submits the most Box Tops each month will win two playground balls!

To participate:

Hints:

  1. Watch for expiration dates. Expired Box Tops are not accepted by BTFE.
  2. Submit Box Tops each month. Submit regularly to avoid having the clips expire.

2017 PTA Reflections Art Program Theme:
“Within Reach”

Student artwork due by Friday Oct 27, 2017

The National PTA Reflections Program is an arts recognition and achievement program for students. Participation in the Reflections Program is a great way for students to express themselves through various art forms. Creating art is a valuable learning process that challenges students to use their critical thinking skills as well as their creative talents to create art that supports a specific theme.

Students may submit entries in any of the six arts areas listed below. Only original works of art are accepted. Students may enter one piece in as many arts areas as they wish to participate in, from the following six categories.

  • Literature
  • Photography
  • Dance Choreography
  • Musical Composition
  • Visual arts
  • Film Production
