Hello Brookvale Families and Staff!

It’s hard to believe there’s less than a month of the school year left, but so much to look forward to!  Here are some dates to remember:

TUESDAY, MAY 7TH – SSC/ELAC MEETING @ 3:15PM

MONDAY, MAY 27TH – NO SCHOOL – MEMORIAL DAY

WEDNESDAY, MAY 29TH – 5TH GRADE PROMOTION PARTY – 4-6PM @ MPR

THURSDAY, MAY 30TH – FIELD DAY

*WE ARE STILL LOOKING FOR PARENT VOLUNTEERS FOR SESSION 2  (12:45 – 3:00PM) SO PLEASE SIGN UP IF YOU ARE AVAILABLE!**

FRIDAY, MAY 31ST – LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!! 

*5TH GRADE FAREWELL @ 9:00AM IN FRONT OF THE SCHOOL

*MINIMUM DAY – STUDENTS WILL BE DISMISSED AT 1:30PM

Teacher Appreciation Week 2024 is coming up NEXT WEEK and we are excited to celebrate our wonderful Brookvale teachers and staff! The partnership between the school and our community is special and we are so appreciative to the teachers and staff that support our kids every single day. There will be some fun activities next week and we will need our awesome families to help make it great!

Here is the schedule:

MONDAY, 5/6: Bring a flower to your teacher and/or favorite staff! These can be store-bought, home-grown or hand crafted.

TUESDAY, 5/7: Teachers and staff will enjoy a Chicken & Waffle luncheon hosted by PTA and courtesy of The Waffle Roost. Yum!

WEDNESDAY, 5/8: Write a THANK YOU note to your teacher and/or favorite staff! PTA will have mailboxes for students to drop in their thank you cards outside of the front office before school starts. Extra note cards will be available for students to write and make just in case

THURSDAY, 5/9: Bring a gift! No gift is too small to show our appreciation

FRIDAY, 5/10: PTA will host coffee & goodies for our teachers and staff to end the week! Alpaca Latte will be setting up their specialty coffee bar – YUM!

In addition to all of the activities, a huge poster will be hung up outside of the 400 building and we invite students to write thank you messages and use their creativity to express their gratitude to our Bronco staff! The poster will be up all week for everyone to enjoy

On behalf of the Brookvale PTA, thank you to our wonderful teachers and staff for everything that you do for our kids and the community. We also want to thank our Brookvale families for their continued support because we would not be able to host any of these activities without you!

REGISTER

All attendees must register here. Once registered, a confirmation email will be sent with the Zoom information needed to join the virtual meeting.

VOTING

Everyone from the Brookvale community may attend the meeting, but only PTA members may vote on issues brought to our association. To begin or renew your membership for the 2023-24 school year, please join via TOTEM prior to the December 12th meeting.

Winter Wonderland is almost here! Come join us for a night of fun, sweets and holiday spirit:) There is no entry fee, however, we will have a variety of yummy baked goods and hot cocoa for sale ($1 each) so please do not forget to bring CASH! We are excited to taste all of the sweets made by our amazing volunteer bakers:) 

Other activities will include ornament decoration at our Arts & Crafts station (a Christmas tree will be up and it will need some ornaments!), photo op with Santa and a good old fashioned snowball fight! There will also be some other fun games set up so don’t miss out!

Last but not least, we will have a table set up with all of the Class Raffle Baskets:) Raffle tickets will be $2 each so please bring CASH! And remember- the basket that receives the most number of tickets that night will win an awesome prize for the class!

We know that these type of events need a lot of teamwork to make it a success, so if you are able to help out, please sign up for a volunteer post! If you are available to help put up the Christmas tree in the MUR prior to next Friday, that would help tremendously. We are also still looking for outdoor inflatables to decorate outside, so please let us know if you have any we can borrow. We will need parent volunteers the night of the event to help out at the Bake Sale table, the Raffle table, and with decorations.
